Cirque de Navacelles

The Cirque de Navacelles is a large erosional landform, an incised meander, located near Saint-Maurice-Navacelles. In the bottom of the valley you find a restaurant and waterfalls with spots to take a bath in the fresh water of the river.






The Viadukt of Millau

The Viaduct of Millau with 300 m tall pylons is the tallest land bridge of the world. The English Architect Sir Norman Foster and the French engineer Michel Virlogeux designed this spectacular bridge in particular the profile of the piles. Access by “le Caylar“ and the highway A75. A visitor’s centre is in North of the bridge beside the highway.




Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert

Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is located near the river Hérault and is not far from the spectacular grots of Clamouse. There are possibilities for swimming and kayaking near the devil’s bridge in the canyon of the river.





"Bambouseraie" in Anduze

The Bamboo Park in Anduze is a giant Parc and the largest plantation of bamboo in Europe. It has opened to the public 100 years after its creation. You will discover the artistic events that mark the life of the bamboo, and certainly you will share our passion for the magic of the plant. There are Japanese and African gardens, and giant Sequoia trees. Take the road from Cantercel to Saint-Maurice-Navacelles, the Vis valley to Ganges and the direction Nîmes to Sauve and Anduze.

Lodève

Lodève is the most important town within a reach of less than 20 km. You will find many kind of shops and services. It is recommended to visit the market of Saturday morning to discover a large range of local and fresh products. Take a rest in the Café on the market place to drink a Kir and to taste fresh oysters.






La Couvertoirade

La Couvertoirade is a mediaeval village, located at the confines of the Larzac plateau, reflects the military power of the Templar Knights and the daily activity of the Hospitaliers (Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem), through its exceptional state of conservation. Classed as a Most Beautiful French Village, La Couvertoirade constitutes a veritable "miniature" of the mediaeval city. Few mediaeval sites in France are as well preserved.


Sète

The best way to discover the Mediterranean from Cantercel is to go to the beach between Sète and Cap d’Agde. There are white sand and beach restaurants for sunset. Sète is a beautifull harbour town with channels going inside the town along the restaurants. A special technical attraction for fans of modern timber construction and kids is the aquatic centre of Balaruc-les-Bains in the Western part of Sète. To go to Sète take the highway A75.
